Ordination to the Priesthood: May 19, 1990

Monsignor Prior is the son of the late Hugh and Rosemary Prior. He and his three siblings grew up in Christ the King Parish in Northeast Philadelphia. After graduating from Archbishop Ryan in 1982, Monsignor Prior entered Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Following ordination he was first stationed at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Southampton. After this he taught at Saint James High School before being assigned to further studies. Following his studies, Monsignor Prior served on the faculty of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary for eleven years. Completing his service as Rector in 2010, he was assigned as pastor of Saint John the Evangelist Parish in Lower Makefield. He was there for seven years before being assigned to Our Lady of Grace. From 2005 to 2012 Monsignor Prior wrote a monthly column for the Catholic Standard and Time, and a weekly one for CatholicPhilly.com since 2012.
