Megan Gancarz joined the Our Lady of Grace staff in February of 2023 as the Director of Music. She is excited to take on this leadership role after participating in OLG's music ministry for almost 25 years! Megan began singing and playing piano at Mass as a sixth grade student at Our Lady of Grace School.
Megan attended Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ and graduated from The Catholic University of America in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While attending CUA, she had the privilege of singing under the baton of sacred music composer Dr. Leo Nestor as a member of the CUA University Chorus and Chamber Choir. She toured with the CUA choirs twice in Prague, Czech Republic and can be seen in the chorus in the 2013 documentary film, "Defiant Requiem". She was also selected to sing with the "Choir of Seventeen" for Pope Benedict XVI when he visited CUA's campus in April 2008. Megan has been teaching choir and general music in the Bristol Township School District since 2009 and earned her M.ed. and K-12 Principal Certification from Cabrini University.
Megan assumes leadership of the OLG music ministry after serving at St. Andrew's in Newtown as Children's Choir director and Adult Contemporary Ensemble director since 2008. In addition to her work at St. Andrew's, Megan has served several other neighboring parishes as a guest soloist or accompanist. She is an active member of the National Pastoral Musicians (NPM) and the Association of Church Musicians in Philadelphia (ACMP).
Megan and her husband Chris were married at OLG in 2014. She has two beautiful children: Jenny and Jon. She is looking forward to the opportunity to mentor a new generation of pastoral musicians at OLG. Her favorite saint is Saint Cecilia!
